“One common problem of blind people in pouring liquid in a cup or glass is that they tend to make the liquid overflow. There is the manual way of touching the liquid but this is not really an advisable method.” Touching liquids is unsanitary, and touching hot liquids is painful. The current solution that exists is a bulky, awkward device that makes noise and vibrates when liquid touches it. My solution is a different approach to this problem: I designed a cup that uses a floating ball which rises as the liquid level rises. Blind people can safely touch the floating ball instead of the liquid. The prototype was created using additive manufacturing and is made of PLA.
